For sale 1998 V70 T5 Auto

Due to some personal issues I reluctantly am putting the T5 up for sale.

Mot until June 2015
Tax until January 2015
189,000 miles

The car has had one previous owner to my self he was the original buyer and ticked most of the options when ordering, bodywork is fairly good for its age with a couple of small spots of laquer peel and one rust spot by the rear number plate, everything works on the car with the exception of the air-con and the offside headlight wiper which operates when it wants to.

It has the usual option, 4x electric windows, remote central locking, cruise control, heated leather seats in beige with drivers seat having full memory, adjustable steering wheel plus a few others I've not mentioned. The car start and drives excellently and the gearbox operates beautifully with no clunks or surging when changing up or down, also has 4 keys and two key fobs as well as the original owners handbook with radio code and original purchase receipt for the car.

Since purchasing the car I have done a few bits and pieces fitted roof rails, rear spoiler and wind deflectors;


New towbar with twin electrics and split charge relay;


I've also replaced the cambelt, water pump, tensioners and auxiliary belt;


Replaced the PCV system and related hose and given other parts a cleanup, changed engine oil and filters;


I am due to give the gearbox its final change of oil on Sunday after a trip to Manchester at weekend, obviously being an older car there are some minor issues all of which I intended to sort to bring the car up to a good standard amongst these were a couple of trim rattles from the boot and I suspect that the front drop links need replacing as they do rattle sometimes on rough road surfaces.

It really is one of the best cars I have owned and really don't want to let it go but it's one of those head over heart matters.

Price I'm asking is £950.00, mot until June 2015 tax until January 2015

Is it worth it, in my opinion yes there aren't many original unmolested T5's around and with the mechanical work already done there's piece of mind for any new owner.

I should add that under the new DVLA road tax scheme that after the 1st October I will not be able to sell the car with road tax. I have checked and new rules forbid it.
