Question Is the V40's Centre Cup Holder removable?

Hi all

I'm new to the V40, having just acquired a 2019 R-Design T2 Pro, as a replacement for the C70 which I had to part company with a few weeks ago...

....in the C70, one of the first things that I did was to remove the centre console cup holder, which was simply clipped-in and had a fully-lined storage space beneath - as there were only ever the two of us in the car and the rear's cup holder was easily reachable, using that instead both gave me a much more convenient place to keep my phone, etc., and also meant that my wife's tall water bottle wasn't ever in my way...

....in this V40, however, there is no obvious way to detach and lift the cup holder out - is it removable, with an option to use the space as 'normal' storage instead, or would taking it out just leave an open void?

It's a good few years since I had my centre console out, to take a feed from behind the power socket for the dashcam, but from memory you would need to remove the entire centre console, as I think that the cup holder unit is attached by screws on the underside. It would as I recall leave a bare void and the power socket would also be lost along with the cup holder, so you would have a loose connector there also.

Thanks - unlike the C70's, which had clips at one end to allow it to be simply lifted out, this one having nothing visible to enable easily removing it had suggested it was probably fixed in place, but thought I'd ask in case someone knew otherwise!
