I would have thought if your cam position sensor was completely failing, there would be codes.

There was a code on my car, when there must have been some intermittent fault with it - it's because of that, that I changed it on my car.

I'm fairly sure Chris has posted the details, before now, of how to check it electrically.

Good Morning to all,Well another day dawns and with the great help of the Wires Guru Chris Rogers i get closer to my goal of getting my old girl ticking again.I have the main Relay 4RA staying open with the ignition OFF,i now have the problems, 1 is the problem with the relay, or as the relay is controlled by the ECU, does the problem lie with it. I know the relay is staying engaged when ignition is off because i have had the lid off it.
Also i am showing power to both sides of the coil (tested With test light) at the same time and have been told this is normal prior to sparking cycle.

Could you explain more clearly what the problem with the relay is as your post seems to be confusing.

Does the main relay switch on when the ign is turned to position II?

If you turn the ign off does it stay on and then switch off after a time delay.

Yes, the relay is controlled by the ECU.

Good evening to all,Well replaced the coil and still no spark.I suppose that could be dud as well but it would be a big coincidence. My S0n said it was working when he took it of his 850 before he scrapped it.

I don't think for a second it's your coil.

No spark and no fuel, and you've got something telling your car not to run - and I'll say it for the 3rd time ;-): cam position sensor, or immobiliser antenna ring (that's not to say it couldn't possibly be anything else, merely where I'd start looking).
