Radiator issues
Hi All,
I am after some advice please ref radiators. My current setup is a completely rebuilt b1800 and have added twin su’s and four branch exhaust manifold and radiator with the small cap and overflow bottle ( original) however I have always felt that the cooling would benefit from a new radiator . To that end I bought an old radiator and had it recored but have now realised that it has the bigger cap and no bracket for overflow bottle. My question would be - can I fit the recored radiator and do away with the overflow, and just run with a 13 psi big cap? Or must I fit an overflow bottle . Thanks in advance for any help. David |

and it's not an overflow, it' an expansion bottle, part of the pressure system.Find an alternative place for bottle.

I know that you have just obtained a re cored rad' but in my opinion you would be better off sticking to original rad' and perhaps fitting an electric fan with a manual switch for the occasions such as slow traffic and delays when the temperature creeps up. I have a B20b with the same set up as you but even here in hot climate under normal driving I have no problem with over heating. You might better before spending any more cash giving the whole system a good flush and checking your water pump.
