It would seem you have a fault with the MAF & the baro sensors.

However I would suggest you have a 20 Valve car with Motronic 4.4 ECU, not a 10V (Fenix) as the thread title suggests.

Not if you've got a 10v engine.

If it's a 10v engine, you'll have an air temp sensor, in the air induction tubing, going from the airbox to the throttle body. And you'll have a MAP sensor, which is located in the middle of the front bulkhead, just above the radiator (and has a white vacuum line running to it, from the throttle body area).

Neither are air mass meters. One measures temperature, one measures air pressure.

If you do truly have a MAF sensor, then you don't have a 10v engine, or there's something funky going on with the codes, or interpretation of them.

What is the history of this car?

It seems like someone has fitted a 10V engine to an original 20 V car and tried to use the original 20 V engine management system.

or could it be a problem with the readings, the guy in the garage couldnt get the box to comunnicate with the car it took ages, now if the codes are for a 20valve and it is looking for a MAF then that would be the reason for all the codes as there is no MAF on the car, so therefore it will be giving the wrong codes.

maybe they didnt have the correct OBDII chip for the 1996 850, i do recall them saying about using something which picks all codes up but specific to the correct car, im now thinking this is where they went wrong, they should have said they didnt have the correct chip but he mention the snap on box only has the v70 from 2000 onwards.

does this sound about right or make any sense to anyone, so i still have codes but need the correct box to read and clear them........
