Default v40 hot start problems

hi all hope someone can help i have a v40 2003 which starts great when cold starts within about 5 seconds no gas needed as soon as it gets warm it takes ages to start have to turn over for approx 15 seconds then stop and straight away turn the key for approx 15 seconds foot to the floor and it will then start it runs fine hot or cold have just driven it for 7 hours 350miles moterway with out stopping and it was fine it does not smoke or use oil when it is hot/warm if i prime the pump by squeezing the hand bulb it will start first time no gas needed any help please.

sounds as if you have air getting into the fuel system check all flexable fuel lines ,and make sure all pipes have not been rubbing or damaged .good luck.

When was the fuel filter last changed? If no record change it as soon as possible.

Might also be an idea to remove the sender unit from the tank and check for algae/gunk around the nylon filter gause, it won't cost you anything other than your time.

Failing that you could have a leak-back test carried out on the injectors by a diesel specialist.
