Good job you got them off then, your tyres should have been 215 45 17

What is wrong with 40's? They have been on the car for ages with no problems?

Overall diameter, and with them being 205 they will pull in reducing your overall diameter further. Tyre size for P1 is ok

Whats wrong with a smaller overall diameter? The smaller the diameter, the faster the acceleration?

My OEM wheels are fitted with 205/50 R16 tyres.Diameter is 611mm.
205/40 R17's diameter is 596mm (16mm difference)
215/40 R17's diameter is 604mm.(better)
205/45 R17 616mm(best)

I was just wondering that, my OEM Arcadias are 215/45/17s which is why I asked about what size tyre that was running, I thought that the tyres looks much much lower profile than mine lol

This car ran arcadias before with 45 tyres and they rubbed, that's why the previous owner bought these alloys and put 40's on.

I am now running some freshly powder coated 16 inch BBS crators with 50 profile tyres that are much better than these, but they have set me back £400, not £250 delivered like these

What's the problem with 40 profile tyres? They give a nice phat rimz effect that alot of people seem to like these days on VXR's and Audis etc

Not my cup of tea, but they are definitely in fashion

Have to say on both this T4 and my first T4 I ran 205/40 R17 with no issues I kept to 205 as didn't see the need to go wider, the speedo may be a little out with the tyres but it'll be in a good way (i.e. at 70 your prob 68-69 etc), & I know some people have had issues running 17's with 45 with rubbing so I wanted to be safe, have to say as well for budget tyres there surprising good...
