  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

I invested in a solar trickle charger as well (but that was when I had a slightly 'iffy' battery that was, eventually when I had some cash, replaced).

True, they won't work through the cigarette lighter; but mine also had a lead with croc clips on and it was easy to route through the door edge and bonnet edge.

BUT!!!!!, although there was a lead with croc clips on, it wasn't fused! So, very first job was to put an in-line fuse on the live line!

In most Volvos the boot socket is live so you could plug it into that.

Except that Volvo went through a phase of removing the boot auxiliary power socket between about 2012-2016 or so. I had one in my 2009 V50. Sadly absent in my 2015 XC60. Pay around £100 and the dealer will fit it for you. Penny-pinching.
