Starter Motor Issue
I'm currently having an issue with the starting motor in my Mk2 S40.
Under normal conditions, the engine will not turn over. The solenoid inb the starter motor activates, but does not spin. I've had the starter motor out and tested it with a 12V battery, and it works fine, so its not the motor its self. The only way to start the engine is to bridge the +ve. and Ign. terminals with a screwdriver, which sparks and spins the starter motor. Im not revieving any error messages on the dash and the battery is in very good condition and charge. What could be causeing the motor not to spin when i use the key? |
