Greetings, new member here. I have a similar problem with my siren randomly going off. No indicator lights, just sound. Is there any harm in just removing the siren and not replacing it? I'm not worried about my '04 being stolen at this point. I just want it to shut up Thanks for your time, Cheers!

Default 06 S40 Does Alarm Module or Siren Battery Set Immobiliser

Trying to get immobilizer off, steering lock warning light, so does alarm system cause this? When you put in key, and it is suppose to unlock steering, so if it is not releasing steering, does this trip immobilizer?

You may have sorted this by now but the answer is to lock it manually with the key. The car will still deadlock but the alarm will not activate.
