Default Emission Warning Light

We have a 2008 V70 Auto estate. The "Emissions" warning light has come on. Our Volvo dealership have had the car for 14 working days - three weeks and have not got a clue.
The vehicle is a "pool" car for a Charity and I cannot risk it being driven by someone in case it's potentially serious.
Has anyone got a clue PLEASE? (The dealership, which is new, have suggested that our car is too old for their diagnostic equipment !!!!!!)
Many thanks
Martin

Find another dealer.
VIDA dice, the standard volvo dealer diagnostics covers from 2000 to 2014 on some models 2017 on others so your 2008 is well within its scope.

As to the fault, without diagnosis it's a guessing game that will quickly prove expensive. At that age I would be looking at the erg to check it's not blocked but diagnosis should point you in that direction if it's the case..
