A very interesting and informative thread. I remember sending some photos of a 165 into the VOC about 25 years ago. The car was light blue and was owned by a guy who lived local to me. The photos featured on the front page of the Driver magazine at the time and it created a bit of interested.Alas i don't remember what happened to the car and have not seen it since so am guessing its now scrap. Regards Dave

I believe that it may have been the Swedish 165 that I saw on a bbc4 documentary about abba . It had a good bit of footage of a 165 driving about.
It had what I think are the wrong mirrors and the dash looked wrong.
This tyes in with what has need said earlier in this thread.
It made me look twice ,all look a 164 oh no it's not its a 165?
Regards Roger

Default time to kick on,the car is still alive

Well its been a long time coming but now its time to get this car finished , instead of being in a thousand pieces.
Brought a rotisserie and now the the floor of the 165 is cleaned and ready to be worked on.
Seam seal tomorrow followed by a new coat of body deadning.
While its on the rotisserie the body work can be worked on and iron out any lumps and bumps and then put into undercoat.

A rotisserie makes it so much easier and quicker.

Glad to hear it! Keep us posted.

Since your last post, I've sent my 164 for restoration with John H, and he's bought a coachbuilt 165 of his own!

cheers

James
