I saw those, wasn't sure if the V50 ones would fit over all brake sizes in the XC70s, I think there's 3 sizes of front brake? Having come from Phase 1 cars with small and big brakes and different wheels for each I'm cautious!
Would be good to maybe build a list of part numbers and which brakes they're confirmed to fit over...

Like the OP I was dismayed to find the airpump and the can of goo and no spare. I've been used to full size alloy matching spare wheels for the last 15 years before buying the Volvo and was most surprised that they don't provide any spare at all. I bought a space saver as the full size wheels won't fit the wheel well which is a classic piece of poor design. The insult to injury was that in order the buy reliable safety equipment, I bought from the local Volvo dealer and paid over £100 for my skimpy wheel. What clinched me buying it was that on the can of goo it tells you that no matter how small the puncture or how repairable it might be, the use of the goo renders the tyre unrepairable and it has to be scrapped! At least I still have the air pump for inflating tyres, footballs and paddling pools. Can't think of a use for the can of goo.

Hope the above link works... worth trying Volvo breakers to see if you can find it cheaper, dont forget the retaining bolt that goes through the middle of it all👍🏻.... Makes a racket if not secured properly. |

Hi all,
Going back to the OP (not intending to hijack the conversation!) I'm also looking for one of these, checked eBay and similar outlets but I can't find anything nearby enough (Need to collect in the next day or two ahead of a long drive to france!) Can anybody advise other cars that would maybe have the same fitment so I could widen the search net? Mine is a V70 D3 R Design - 2012. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. |

Hi, I just had to put my space saver wheel on my V70 (2010) after taking out my alloy and tyre on a f@@@ing pothole and it makes a right racket as the caliper appears to be fouling the rim. So its basically undrivable on it as its that loud and heats up the rim. The wheel is 16" with a 125/85 tyre on.
Has anyone else had this issue? I assume if I changed to a 17" space saver this would solve it as I think its the rim rather than wheel face it is touching (although not certain). I know the caliper is already VERY close to the inside rim on my 16" alloys so guess the steel space saver is just a tad smaller in inside diameter... |

Ok I'm going to stick my neck out here and say someone has fitted a non-standard spacesaver in your car, as I believe P3 V70 never had a 16" wheel so its no surprise this wheel catches the caliper........( waits while someone proves me wrong)
I'm assuming that your calipers are the standard issue for your car and not an upgrade from another model??? If I am wrong what you are experencing is not a total surprise as my daughter runs a 2006 Jazz and acquired 4 wheels and tyres when her boyfriend scrapped his same model type Jazz two years back. One wheel did not go over the front calipers - it was ok on the rears so thats where it was put. All other wheels would go anywhere....bizar... Like my daughter, I'm guessing the wheel might go ok on the rear wheel and then the rear wheel could go on the front. A carry-on I know but at 3am on a wet morning it beats a long walk home - almost Personally, I think it sucks that car manufacturers no longer supply a 5th wheel, and any defense of this action claiming to be weight saving is a load of Horlicks...its cost cutting plain and simple.... Yes, standard caliper with the 316mm discs. As far as I know my car came with the 16" alloys from new as se spec. Think I'll order a 17" space saver and hope for the best...
