Default My new XC90 (and RSE fitted by elliott2)

XC90 Executive in Magic Blue/Off Black. Just had a week in the Lake District ferrying 6 people around in comfort.

The DVD player

Also in the glove compartment are the two HDDs, one for music for the USB connection to the sound system and one for the AVI files to be played through the DVD player.

Only slight drawback is that the screens are mounted at a slight angle and my 6 year old asks the passenger to recline the seat so he can see better!

Your car looks very nice.

Did you chose fixed screens over swivel screens ? - just that when I got mine Peter did offer screens that could be adjusted down and these worked fine for smaller children.

The image below is from a Jaguar forum user who Peter supplied / installed ?. These screens were the same as the dealer fit kit (that I believe Pete also supplied) from Jaguar and what Peter installed in my XC90. My seats are possibly different to yours so maybe not all in the screens ? , but I can say the screens work very well with no issues from my 6 year old.

Nice motor, one I aspire to next time around.

Just bought my first XC90, almost 4 year old D5 Geartronic SE, can't wait to pick it up on Saturday...

But getting very jealous of all these new models !

There wasn't a choice when I asked, so no. It's no problem. The passenger just relaxes a little more!

I have OE rear screens in my 2011 R-Design and I'm pretty sure that they use different headrests to overcome the angle problem. Even my 2 1/2 yr old has no problem viewing them.

Yes, they do but the Volvo DVD system, while beautifully integrated is old hat and cannot be fitted on last row of seats.

Elliot2 fitted swivel screen in mine ( http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpo...9&postcount=19 )

I can only imagine the swivel screens do not work with a hard disk.

Interesting concept the hard disk.. are they touch screen BTW?

Very nice car indeed!

I see the difference in headrests between the OEM and "aftermarket".
The look really neat integrated I must say.

I'm still considering a hack to see the dvd on the navigation screen in front as well together with the possibility to install a media streaming device in combo with a HD.
The front screen will than only be used to fire up a movie and than switch back to navigation.

Still working out how to set it up actually...

Thumbs up

Lovely car. You're very fortunate to be able to own a nice new one like that! Black's a pig of a colour but when it's clean it's hard to beat.
