The Thong: you mentioned an LPG garage in Bangor
Can you tell me where it is please?

You mention 200 miles range per LPG fill.
is this the norm for a behind the rear seat tank in a 2L car?

I see to remember the BP station at Holywell on the A55, you can't miss it. It has a McDonalds next to it. There's also a Texaco on the Caernarfon Rd, Bangor.

I think one of the Shell Garages on the A55 do it too.

I topped it up in Reading and drove it to empty on the M6 and then it took 41 litres in Chester.
It was about about 200 miles, allowing fro diversions to Nuneaton
The tank has 80 L stamped on it and the cert says water capacity 80 L

So 80ltr water capacity should give you a fill of 64ltr from empty

So was it not empty to take just 41 litres?. They did tell me that the gauge was a bit dopey, and the red light did come on on the thingy beside the gear shift.

How do you fit that adaptor?
The socket on the car has a bayonet fitting - surely the adaptor needs a bayonet too, a bit like the UK pump outlet?
Or do you have to unscrew the entire filler, release the LPG, and screw in a new one? Does the adaptor come with its own valve?

you will see the different adaptors.
The UK uses both ACME and Bayonet.
Both thread into the threaded flange on the car and then the filling unit from the pump screws, in the ACME case, or half turns in the Bayonet case, onto the adaptor which now protrudes from the threaded flange on car.
You then open and lock open the trigger on the filling unit.
this releases a bit of gas into adaptor.
You then go to the pump and press a button down, and keep it pressed for the duration of the the fill: u can decide amount as like liquid fuel, money or volume or if u wait for it to fill it will just stop, with no spill!!.
I gather you only get one shot at the fill button, you must keep it down or else get garage to reset the counter. My first 'fill' was for 23 pence

Once it is full or you are finished you release the button on the the pump and then release the trigger on the filling unit and unhook the filling unit off the adaptor and then unscrew the adaptor, which will be a tad cold.

In the case of the bayonet adaptor, which I found tricky, you may have to use the filling unit to help unscrew the adaptor.

Every garage I went to in UK expressed a preference, in writing, on the pump for the ACME adaptor. I only had the bayonet.
What I don't know is if the filling unit will work with both ACME and Bayonet.
