Default Bulb failure parking light?

This seems odd, firstly I'm not aware of parking bulbs at the rear (have checked the manual but I might be being dim.

It's not a steady warning light - flickers on and off. I've changed the bulbs at the front but this hasn't helped.

Any ideas - xc90 Dec 2006 d5

I have had this also a while ago, removed bulbs and cleaned bulbs contacts and also clean the contacts in the bulbs housing. after a while the contacts become dirty.

Just a weak contact between connections.

When I changed the bulbs they were very dirty - black dust. So do I just try and clean the bit the bulb pushes into - tooth brush maybe.

The parking lights at the rear are Tail lights . a single large bulb each side up to 2007 and two small 5w bulbs each side 2007 and later .

Think that's it, the ones at the front come on as running lights but not when parked. By the looks of the manual the rear light clusters are a pain to remove

The parking lights at the front should operate the same as the back ones , have you tried turning everything off and just clicking the light switch to the Parking light position ?

Brilliant- that's it. There's one lot on the passenger rear and two on the drivers rear - I guess that's the issue
