Geartronic: Flaring/Slipping in 2nd gear, not between gears
Afternoon all,
I'm trying to trace a problem that's been present since I bought my V70 last year at 110k miles. Currently on 124k. V70 P3, 2008, 2.4D, TF80 box. Problem: Driving in either auto or semi, there's a noticable flare or slip in 2nd gear at around 1700 rpm, before the box tries changing to 3rd. The revs seem to drop by 200 rpm before picking up again. Leads to a jerky upshift. More noticable in semi, becuase in auto it almost gets blended into the gear change. When driving a bit harder it seems fine and revs cleanly until the upshift. Video of the fault below. https://youtu.be/JlsmMDz1hPE https://youtu.be/rZAzDrcZAVg TF-80SC 31256205 08D3806633 No other gearbox faults at all, no hard down shifts or banging between gears. No gearbox history before my ownership but I've done 2 sump dumps in the last 10k miles, but hasnt had any noticable impact. I've not yet had it into a dealer to see if the software is up to date, but it's on my list of things to do. I've got a spare TF80 from an ex-police car, but I'm not in a big rush to do a full gearbox change. Any suggestions or thoughts greatly appreciated.
