ME7 cars are usually remapped using the oBD port arent they? I suppose if there is a problem you would need to remove and directly program the eprom itself.
Its easy to tell an ecu that has been soldered etc as the metal lugs that hold the lid on will show signs of being bent over before you even look inside at any soldering.
I dont see the need to become agressive to a company if they dont want to discuss if a chip is soldered. Just have a look yourself!

I'm not all too worried about it being soldered, as it is working, lol

It's been flashed again through the armrest aswell, so all must still be well.

when i had my chip done i was told that they flashed the ecu and didnt have to dismantel it, This is also what is said on there website.

I just want volvotuning to confirm this for my own reassurance, as with all this talk of soldered ecu's im a little worried, if not for me then for thier future customers.

it makes you wonder why volvotuning wont anwer this pretty straight forward question though, doesnt it?

i dont want to have a look myself as it will void my warrenty with im gonna need come dyno day.

No remaps are undetectable! You dont need any fancy equipment to remap a car an eprom programmer will do.
Is this the latest line of attack by the Rica bashers, if a chip is soldered or not? Does it matter?

i was told that they are undetectable, and that my ecu is flashed. so what your saying simon is that its ok if it turns out my supplier was lying and that it is?

I cant quite see your logic, its like your saying its ok to lie and mislead?

I dont see the need to become agressive to customers who are seeking clarification from a company which has done work on their cars, which they themselves have paid for. Just have a think for yourself and place yourself in their shoes!
