Post Climate controls, wing mirrors, central locking all dead ...

Hi XC90 wizards (and any knowledgeable readers),

While replacing an intermittently erratic radio head unit in my ‘54 plate XC90, I now find that the following systems are not working:
  • Electric door mirrors,
  • Central locking
  • Heated seats
  • Electric mirrors
  • Climate controls
  • Air bag fault message

I am a reasonably competent electrician and have checked all fuses in the engine compartment, the dashboard side fuse box, the battery compartment etc. and all are good.
The sequence of events was as follows.
I put the automatic gear shift into drive and then switched off the engine. I pulled up the gear shift up and out to allow removal of the shift surround to expose the two lower bolts below the central control panel. Removed the two bolts and unhooked the entire panel from the top securing lugs.
I then unplugged the radio, CD player, cigar lighter socket and climate control panel in turn.
It’s cold outside so I carried the entire panel into the house to allow removal of the audio units in the warm. With this away from the console I decided to refit the console so that I could collect the kids from school. I refitted all the electric sockets including the cigar lighter and then noticed the air bag alert message on the dash. The wing mirrors were turned in and climate controls all dead.
On the up side, the engine starts fine and in spite of being cold I drove to school and back without issue.
The next day I used our other car for the school run and then began to try and recover the Volvo. I’ve tested all the fuses that I can find. I isolated the battery for more than an hour to reset any onboard computers but still the same conditions prevail. The cigar lighter still has power but the fibre optic cables are not emitting the red light which I saw earlier.
My next thought was to refit the audio systems and reconnect the fibre optic etc. but then I thought I should post the challenge to this forum for anyone to offer suggestions.

Please feel free to offer any help or advice and I’ll gladly answer any probing questions which might help to resolve the problem.

I have spent a couple of hours searching the forums for similar errors without success but if there is an existing post that I’ve not seen I offer sincere apologies for wasting anyone’s time. If so please refer me to any other posts which might help.
If anyone has access to any circuit diagrams I would be for ever grateful.

Here’s hoping for some inspiration,
The Captain ⛵️

I don't know, but always disconnect t he battery before doing any electrical work (Including checking fuses etc.., unless you can see in situ). And, then never re connect the battery with anything left unplugged.

You'll certainly get the SRS warning, and maybe in your case other systems.

First, try now disconnecting the battery, leave for 10 minutes or so then reconnect.

Good luck!

Default SRS CCC Battery issues

Climate control module needs to be reset, aka SRS code generated,...did you disconnect a rear seat belt wire for example? Many less expensive Volvo readers can do this reset otherwise a trip to someone that has this type of code reader. You could also try and use the fob and lock and unlock 3 times using the remote. Ultimately you need to reset the CCC nothing else you can do.

Icarsoft still makes an affordable reader, amongst others,....

Ditto the battery disconnect procedure, also there is a battery reconnect procedure. If you left the battery connected basically working on the radio you disconnected the CCC which trips the SRS fault.

Good luck
