Loose headlight reflector
When I went to replace a bulb in my passenger side headlight I noticd that the reflector was loose. At first I throught it was a problem with the leveling system but now I don't think it is. The reflector wobbles freely left and right. The leveling system still tilts it up and down as is should.
I took a quick look at the drivers side headlight and that is fine but I cannot see anything obvously different beween the two. Any ideas? I think I'll have to remove the unit, take off the glass and have a look but I am not sure what I will find... Cheers, Paul |

RE: Loose headlight reflector
Whoever had the car has over adjusted at some point and a small plastic lug has been broken. This is part of a Volvo service kit part number 30621936 - I have a spare brand new in box - about £20 including VAT from Volvo, includes a new lens seal, the lug and the clips - £15 + postage and it's yours. I also have the wiring harness for a headlight part number 30652035 to replace burnt or broken wiring / connectors (does whole lamp and is for the 5 pin connector - check how many your headlight plug has), this is also about £20 incl VAT from Volvo - again £15 + postage and it's yours, parts are brand new unopened genuine Volvo.
Why - because I had exactly the same problem .... By the way, in addition to the lug that breaks if the up/down is overadjusted the reflector also becomes disconnected at the top - mine was, I couldn't get it back on no matter how hard I tried with the lens still on. You will need to pull the bumper off however to remove the headlight. |
