Can a S80 AWD with 4C be Converted to Std Suspension
I have a 2007 S80 V8 Sport with the 4C suspension. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction of converting to "standard" style suspension. My car has now covered around 106k and although I absolutely love the car I am now looking to update, standardise, the suspension.

Yes
Replace the electrically controlled shocks with some standard shocks Note that you will get a permanent 4C error message on your dash as a result

Call volvo and ask if they could disable it on computer. Pretty sure they should be able to. My V70 Rdesign doesn't have 4C but on engine start the 4C fuse connector is live, I currently have my dash cam running of it. I don't have any errors running my dash cam of it. From what I gather with volvo is pretty much all the wring looms are there ready but just need programming to work or not.

Can I ask why you want to swap to non-4c? if it's cost, then you may not know that the shocks are now available from Monroe on the aftermarket for just over £100 per corner: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/monroe/7490348

The 4C suspension on my XC70 saves it from being a wallowing barge! With the suspension set at "advanced" it really controls the handling to make the car truly drivable. When encountering bad surfaces the suspension is set to either "standard" or "sport" and the bumps are softened. I wouldn't want to do without the option as road surfaces and speed bumps can really cane a hard suspension setting. So if the 4C can be brought up to scratch for £400, I'd say it was worthwhile but then I do drive an AWD vehicle where I want to have the best of both worlds in terms of handling.
