Low beams
Does anyone know if you can put 100w bulbs in low beams on a 2008 s40. Thanks,

No. Put them in, and you might as well drive on full beam at all times.
The lows are allowed to have a MAXIMUM of 55w. That is MAX. Anymore and you will either fry the cables or melt the headlight housing. Just so you know what happens: I had in my rear numberplate lights 10w bulbs instead of 5w. Didn't twig, until they melted! Only 5w difference causes troubles...

So is fitting a hid kit but people still do it. You can fit 100w if you want but be sure to fit a relay to stop the wires melting. I doubt that 100w would be brighter than a oem hid. I don't mean a hid kit as they just draw 35w(output is as low as 17w depending on the kit) as opposed to oem hid that outputs 35w and draws closer to 50w
