SatNav reset
We own a '57@ Plate XC90 which falls on the cusp of model year refresh. I managed to insert the wrong disk into the Sat Nav unit which got 20 minutes into the update and stopped. The Sat Nav now only works if I put the original disk back in and press the back button within the 1st minute. If I don't this the Sat Nav tells me the update failed and I have the wrong disk in.
So, can I use the diagnostic mode in the Sat Nav to reset the update process? Cheers Martin |

There is no reset function in the diagnostics. You can look yourself, no tools required. You now need to complete the update with the correct disc.

Unfortunately this highlights the importance of ensuring you purchase the correct disc.
There is zero ambiguity of your cars model year. The VIN shows the MY with certainty.

Yep have tried that. Even took it into Volvo for them to have a go with the correct disk, but no joy! It seems that because it's partially updated it will now only recognise the wrong disk to update from (if that makes sense!). Volvo at a loss, I'm at a loss...everyone seems at a loss as what to do. Have a good look through the diagnostics. Whilst I dont think that a reset function exists, maybe there is something hidden that I missed. You can get into the diagnostics yourself via the BACK and ENTER buttons: from a cold boot, press BACK ENTER BACK ENTER BACK END continuously during the boot up process to get into diagnostic mode.
Then explore the menus. Other things to try: Insert an older DVD with an older OS. This will hopefully force an OS downgrade and may bring it into a clean update mode. Of course, you need to have an older DVD. Ask on the Forum if someone in your area has a dvd to try. Good luck.
