Draining cooling system
I own an H Reg 340 1.7 GL. I need to replace the hose that runs between the expansion tank and the radiator because its currently leaking. I thought that whilst I'm taking this hose off, I might as well drain the system and fill it again.
I've been told that this model operates a self contained cooling system, so theres no drain plug on the radiator. I assume that I need to take the bottom hose off of the radiator in order to fully drain the system. Before I start.... I just wanted to check that this is correct! Is the hose that I need to take off the one directly below the hose that runs to the expansion tank? (Bottom right hand side of the radiator... if looking back to front) Any help would be appreciated, Rob |

RE: Draining cooling system
yep, the very bottom radiator hose. Make sure you put the heat control to max. When you refill, just refill through the expansion tank till at max. Start up and run with the cap off and top up if the level drops below max, until the engine is completely hot. Ie thermostat open. Check the interior heater is operating correctly the switch off.
You need to re top after the engine has cooled cos the level will have dropped. Andy |
