340 1.4 Rough Running in Windy Weather?
I have a 340 1.4 of 70,000 miles which runs fine except when the weather is windy.
It runs in the cold. It runs in the heat. It does not run well in the wind!!! It acts like it has a fuel blockage and will only run on plenty of choke. I have had a new fuel sender and the tank is perfectly clean. I have checked the inlet air thermostat and it is working fine. Does anybody have any ideas on this? John & Christina |

If anyone is interested I've fixed this!
It was a dirty electrical connection on the idle cutoff solenoid on the carb. |

RE: 340 1.4 Rough Running in Windy Weather?
Hi Folks,
Glad that you have been able to sort out the problem. Please don't regard the lack of responses as a lack of interest - this is the sort of thing that we can tuck away in memory on the off chance that we may need it ourselves. I don't think that you would have been too happy with a lot of responses saying something like "Sorry - can't help you!" Don't give up on us - there may be something in the future that we can help with - and there may be something that you can suggest for our possible problems. Happy motoring. |
