Default 480 Speedo / Info Centre

When I bought the 480 the info centre was intermittent and would only work after the car had been driven a few miles..........

Used the car a bit and then it worked permanently.

Then didn't use it for 6 weeks, battery failed, and info centre not worked since (about 3-4 months ago)

Took it to Lookers on Sunday and Rev Counter was dead, then at end of road (1ooyds after leaving home) it sprang in to life and has been ok since.

The issue however is since my 480 has been on the ramp at Lookers the speedo no longer works. Sure it is a co-incidence and absolutely no criticism of Lookers. Disconnected speedo centre and resistance is about 3ohm.

Before I strip dash out and do connections (don't want to do it - I HATE taking dash apart) there is something at the back of my mind with electrics etc. etc. and similar instance with old grey 480, then new alternator, and new battery and everything was perfect. In fact on the old one when the speedo failed operating the rear wash wipe caused it to spring into action.

Any views suggestions?

Finally where is the speedo centre on a Celebration AUTO?
Many thanks

Chris

It is more than likely a plastic cog behind the speedo that has gone. I've been told as long as your infocentre is working, the electrics are fine, as they work on the same circuitboard. I may have the contact details for a guy that can make a new cog for you. I'll dig them out and PM you.
