High level brake light
can anyone tell me why should the high level brake light on my s40 {2004} have gone dim please

-Not enough voltage to it: if it gets far less than battery voltage, then you got a weak contact somewhere.
-Weak solder joint somewhere on PCB where LED's and resistors are soldered -Heat damage_ LED's are sensitive to higher temparatures (over 70°C), even when they are not lit. This cause permanent damage to them. -Too high voltage on whole electrical system and brake light. Car may suffered alternator overcharge before, so LED's felt overcurrent through them. This also cause permanent damage. |

first place i would be looking is the wiring in the trunking at the top of the tailgate .
