Hello guys,

I'm 24 and i've just got my first Volvo:

Its the 1.6 and just done over 140000 (140000 - is that OK?) as you can see from the pics I have odd wheels. I've got 3 the same and a odd one, anyone know where I can pick another one up to match (the rear volvo wheel in the pic)

When I got the car I saw there were some bulbs gone (the side one's) and a numberplate bulb had gone. I have no idea where I'd get the bulbs from so you anyone could tell, would be great! (maybe ebay?) I also noticed there was a bit of damp in the boot (is this common?) apart from all that what a great car!

Welcome to the forums, you are second "young" Volvo owner to join the forum in the last couple of days.
The damp in the boot can be caused by water ingress through the light seals, the boot seal or the rear bumper mounting bolts, best bet is to remove carpets from the boot, sprinkle liberal amounts of talc around then use a hose or wait for rain, the water will leave tell tale tracks in the talc.
Bulbs (sidemarkers) are available from maplins or any good electrical outlet and can be replaced after digging the sealant out of the bulb holder or alternatively you can buy replacement side markers from ebay about £12 each.
The 1.6ltr you will find is a little under powered but still a good car with a proven track record for reliability, my car is heading for 140k and still pulls well although it does use a little oil.
Enjoy your car and the forums.
Check ebay for the wheel or ask our resident legend "gdphilips" if he can help you out, I think Gareth (gdphilips) could be the only man ever to find rocking horse sh*t lol.

Hey

The 1.6 is alot quicker then my old 1.0 vw polo! lol!

I can see the "sidemarkers" are going to be a pain to replace!

In the next few weeks i'll be doing a full service on the car! (Wheres the oil filter I can't find it anywhere??!! lol)

With regards to your alloys, they are Craters and they are probably the nicest ones to have (even though I prefer the Galactica ones).

With regards to the oil filter, it is down under, next to the sump plug

I think the wheels are Volvo BBS?!

Thanks for the help guys! The bulb list has kinda confused me a little. The bulbs from a 2002 are going to fit a 1998?

And (http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com) is showing US prices. Has anyone shopped there? Whats the delivery like? And are there any other online volvo shops?
