Default Software Update

Afternoon All,

Having received my S90 (17 plate), I have realised the software on the infotainment side is still stock and not update. I got the car 'serviced' before I collected from stealership that was a ford, so no software updates. Does anyone know if you can get a software update at Volvo garage and if so how much for?

Many thanks!!

I am pretty sure that Volvo commit to free software updates for life, but not sure if it is dependant on being serviced at a Volvo dealer?

Anyhow it is still in warranty so just book it into a Volvo dealer with a warranty issue and they will always install the latest software, especially if your complaint could be caused by the software.....

You can register your volvo at any main volvo dealership for servicing etc, they will carry out the updates when you take your car in for servicing. FOC. They may even invite you in to get the update before service required if you explain you have just bought the car and it has not had the Sensus update.

I had one of my Volvo's wrote off and the insurance conpany supplied me with a new car from Stoneacres in Grimsby, which is no where near me in Durham, I registered the car with my local Mill garage dealer and they treat me no different to if I had bought the car from them and carried out servicing and warranty work just the same, the servicing was included with the new car as well.

You will get the full update at your next service at a Volvo dealer .
They will not just do it free for you if you request it ..., it takes nearly an hour of their time ..
If you have a fault which may be software related they will do the software as a first action .
On the latest range of cars from the new xc 90 onwards , There is only one software update and it does whatever is needed on the whole car .
