Ducillier starter motor brushes
Has anyone a source of the two triangular brushes for my 343 Ducillier starter motor? It has started playing up , dismantled it today and the brushes are worn, it was a genuine new starter motor in 2002 as well !
Thanks

I got some from a auto electrical reconditioner many years ago, I think they are fairly standard.

The original 1980 starter has conventional rectangualar brushes on the side , but from 1985 a new type starter was used with triangular brushes on the end of the starter .
I thought all 340 stuff was obsolete by volvo hence asking here but today was surprised that the brush kit is still available , £48 !

£48.00 is totally outrageous. Sad company that sell them at that ridiculous price.
You can get them from a firm in Huddersfield called Woodauto. http://www.woodauto.com/contactUs.aspx Ask for Robert Heywood if you have problems. He's a nice guy, and their MD, and I'm sure that he will be able to point you to one of his stockists or recommend where you might get them. I'd be amazed though if he hadn't got them right there in stock.
