Volvo Amazon 122S For Sale
Red Volvo Amazon, twin carbs, reconditioned B18 engine. Spares including set of original solid wheels, full exhaust and many others. Volvo tools including hub puller and original Nike jack. Original brown log book and copy workshop manual. New brakes required. £1490.

can you tell me about this tire jack? I'm from the US and drove a 1968 144 in 1994 that was my first car. I was always curious about the now-iconic Nike "swoosh" logo that was on the cap/top of it. When this car and logo was manufactured, there was no shoe company! How did Volvo come up with this symbol on their tire jacks of that era? Which vintage cars had this style of jack?

'Nike' was the greek god of victory so it's not like it's a name Phil Knight randomly came up with. I bet there was a 'Nike' company in Sweden that made jacks. The 122 and 544 jacks don't have any sort of swoosh on them in the slightest. I have never seen a 140 jack that did either but I mostly deal with the older cars...
