Well i'm in Ireland, but i'll get one shipped over if i need to (and i probably will need to). I'm possibly about to pick up another 940 td with a wrecked engine, and i also want a spare for backup as my daily 940 is getting a bit smoky and tired and 260k so having another engine, and probably some spare bits around would be nice. They're very thin on the ground over here though, mostly non turbo 2 litre petrols.
I cleared out a good bit of volvo stuff I had a couple of years back, which i'm now regrettign as i've got volvos again

Default engine on gumtree

theres a 740 td engine on gumtree belfast for £300 but looks like it is removed so you would be taking a big chance buying it as it is very unlikely to be seen running. http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-m...ine/1053616198

thanks for that link. It may be worth a call. On the opposite end of the island to me but easier than uk mainland anyway. That's actually very close to the engine i have in the silver 940 im driving. If it's still got the injector pump and belts on etc there's a reasonable chance of just starting it on the ground

so i'm not all that worried about that

Default if you do go for it

big chance if you do go for it , it has been on gumtree for 28 days now so the seller may take a lot less than the asking price just the distance is the thing it would be horrible to drive all that way and end up either a wasted journey or worse still to buy a dud.

good luck in finding a good td engine.

Ah, should be very close to my early non intercooled 940 then so.
Was it much good?
I also saw the one you had up for sale, at least i think it was you (full car), which i'd love as well, but I've got neither the space nor the money for the moment, need to do another clearout

I'll have to reply to you here until my post count is up i think. I couldn't take a whole car, as i'd be relying on doing a deal with someone to allow a courier/transport guy of some sort to pick up an engine and bring it here. I'm in Ireland and unless i could get off work to go across and maybe pickup two or three engines if i could line them all up, i'll have to take a chance and have one shipped. It's proving difficult to find a good one here
