Default P1800E 1970 hand brake cable

what is correct lenght of the hand brake cable and adjusting rod ?
I bought cable at Skandix (ref.no. 1212342) which is ~20 cm shorter than the old one.
so either the cable or the adjusting rod is too short

The part number you have is the same as at Brookhouse and the cable and the size of the loop looks the same so it looks as if you have the right part. A look at the parts list shows that you appear to have a replacement rod made out of a length of threaded steel. Look at the attached. It looks longer in the picture even though it has a cut in the diagram. Perhaps you can get the correct one?
Part# is 680912.

Thank you Derek
I looked at the parts manual and saw this drawing before.
My doubts are because the old cable looks exactly like new (rubber retainers, nuts, cable ends) except for the length - I have no idea what type of cable it is, but it fits.
Lenght of adjusting rod should be over 30 cm, what looks for me little strange.
Replacement of the rod without buying a new one is easy, but what should be the correct lenght ?

Look at 140 handbrake cables on Brookhouse. The comments about the lengths may prove useful.

Here’s a better picture of the rod, maybe you can estimate the length from the picture by comparing it to the fitting at the end?

It seems that previous owner cut the rod and put 140/164 cable (242 cm).
From the picture rod lenght is app 268 mm (not far from my estimation)
