My ac stopped working. Found the compressor clutch assy was on its way out of the compressor. The bolt holding it in was gone. Banged the darn thing in, found a fitting bolt and securely thightened it in place and have never looked back.

Update
Just had a pressure test / vacuum test and all seems okay, if there is an issue, it's minuscule.
System's been topped up with refrigerant and I have to monitor it for a few weeks to see how it goes. Any more issues and it'll have dye added to see if this pinpoints any leaks but so far so good. It has been suggested that it wasn't topped up last June!! Glad I didn't own the car then as I would be a bit

I realised recently that our aircon didn't work on the V50 and hadn't done since we bought it in January. Went in to Murray in Edinburgh today and had to have the condenser replaced. Luckily, since it was bought at Volvo in Perth, it has a 1yr Selekt warranty so all we had to pay was gas and diagnostic at £90. The condenser and labour was covered under Selekt (thankfully!).

Its fawlty!
Hi - its widely known that the condenser is prone to fail as it has a design fault. Had mine replaced f.o.c. by Volvo under goodwill - but my V-50 R Design has a full Volvo service history which helps I think.

Our V50 also has a full Volvo service history. I might perhaps take it up with Volvo selekt on Monday. I am at least glad that most of the bill didn't come from my pocket.

Refund given by the dealer. Clan, many thanks for that pointer. Saved me over £90.
