Default Fluid level

Is there a way to know the ATF level in the auto gearbox?

Only via the level plug. With the gearbox at 50 degrees or just warm basically, you remove the small torx bung from the main drain bung on the gearbox. If the level is correct you will get only a small amount of fluid drain from it. I’ve never had nothing come out, usually a small amount like 1/4 to 1/2 a cupful then stops. That is how the level is set when the box oil is changed. Obviously car wants to be as level as possible ect.
