Default RSE DVD, Aux and Digital TV

I have just picked up a 2009 XC70 SE Lux with the RSE DVD, Aux and Digital TV factory fitted. The centre console DVD powers up and plays.

I have changed the batteries in the remote after dismantling it for an alcohol wipe clean.

Has anyone used a universal remote as a replacement to the Volvo one?

Can the centre console DVD controls be used to switch between DVD, Aux and Digital TV?

Has anyone successfully played back a movie on a smart phone through the AV connections? I have rigged up a lightning to HDMI adapter to an HDMI/AV box to the component connections - but without the remote no joy.

Is there a link to PDF's for the above as Google is failing fairly miserably to deliver for a change...

Many thanks, Richard

Hi!

I too have a want for a remote on my 2008! You will need to the remote to switch inputs I’m afraid. I have some manuals and the pamphlet that came with my system. I have exactly the same as yours but don’t have the digital TV - would love that option!

I’ve yet to find a compatible remote but One4All are prepared to clone one for me, but I didn’t have the original to send them! They do turn up every once in a while on eBay but good money. It was a costly and rare option in the UK so parts are scarce.

I did read (but haven’t proven yet) that Ford Galaxy of the same era has exactly the same system and their remote is cheaper and possibly more common too?

If you drop me an email address by PM and I’ll forward what details I have and the photos of the manuals. Could I have a photo of your remote too? Would be good to confirm the leaflet I have is the same as yours!

All the best

Such a newbie I need 30 posts to write a private message. Gutted that the remote PCB was damaged by a battery leak at some point. I am risking a Volvo health check in a couple of weeks so no doubt will have a £££ conversation with the techs there if they want to try and hook me in for a service plan :-)
