With the above in mind, if your fingers are as wide as mine, it might be worth checking your car afterwards!
I bought a pack of cheap batteries off ebay and they barely last a month each. Therefore I am very adept at changing batteries.

I had the same sort of thing happen to me yesterday. After fiddling about with fob and fitting a replacement battery I went outside and found the boot open. At what stage in my fiddles it opened I don't know but seeing as it wasn't soaking wet thanks to storm Dennis it can't have been very long.

I am glad I was not the only one.

Just changed mine and have to agree it could be a little easier! When you're fat fingered like me pushing buttons and sliding in other directions is not easy - must have dropped it 10 time

I managed to open mines no bother and replaced with brand new Duracell CR2032, same as what`s in it. Didn`t work. Amazon sent me another pack and the same. When I replace the old, dying one, it works just fine, the new batteries are just not playing.

After watching a few vid`s there is nothing to say the fob must be re-registered or anything so does anyone have any ideas?

It`s got me baffled.

I just changed the battery and went outside and it worked immediately.

OK so here`s the answer.

Duracell are a bawhair thinner than Panasonics. The small retainers that hold the battery in situ were broken (well 2 of them were) and the Duracell just wouldn`t make the connection.
I went and got a new Panny and it works fine.

I tried the 2nd remote. The Panny in that was dead but because the retainer clips were still in place, the Duracell worked no problem.

Glad that it`s all sorted now.

Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the new batteries. These keys have very little leeway for low battery voltage.

I don`t have one bud. Recommend me a cheapo (as I will hardly use it) if you like. I guess it`ll come in handy sometime though.

This looks to be OK and simple to use and at the right price...

Whatever you buy, if anything, if you don’t use it often, remember to remove the batteries for storage of more than a couple of weeks.
