Hi, I’ve just had a quote through from a local indie for replacing front discs and pads, genuine parts- £394.50- does this seem a bit steep? Thanks,Simon

Around £170 for genuine Volvo discs and pads from the internet and an hour or so to fit them

I changed my discs and pads all round two years ago. As mentioned it's around £170 for the volvo front discs and pads. An hour's labour to fit by an indie £80 tops.

On eBay there are a few sellers. I purchased mine from Volvo parts trade. Delivery was next day

Thanks for the replies, just ordered the parts 170 inc delivery. I have a decent back street garage who are happy to fit them so I will get them to do it, I’m a little disappointed with the indie on their price, I was going to get it serviced by them but might shop around abit before making a decision

Compared to what I have to pay, that is cheap
My local dealer charges around 600 GBP

I had to pay £300 at a fast fit place when one of my brake pads disintegrated on holiday last year - that was on a v70 btw. Was gutted as I'd usually DIY this.
