Default MTE back in the UK.

We will have someone from MTE back here again on wednesday of next week (8th.March) to do some more work on various cars.

If anyone has anything special to be undertaken or may just want a software upgrade done by the man himself maybe you could let me know and we can make some arrangements. (Wednesday through Sunday)

Don.Norchi.

Yep its the same as a rica\bsr\superchips etc, its just that don often has customers that dont have standard cars (they are often one offs with hybrid turbo's etc), so the guys from MTE (mainly marco) come over a write a custom map for that car.

But the advantage of getting your remap done when they are here is that they can do any alterations to the software to suit your needs. for example (dont ask me why!!! ) iain had a custom map and specified that he wanted to run a max boost of 1 bar.

But the big thing to remember is that the software installed on the car is actually written by the guys that come over (there not just re-sellers) so they know it back to back, unlike the other products listed about were they re-sell a product and make basic changes to it.

off course you could have it tweaked by the designers\coders but you would have to go to their HQ which is normally not in the uk.

That is not strictly true because Superchips are based in the UK and are developers of their own software. RICA are based in Holland but the UK distributor is actually fully equipped with full back to back product knowledge and equipment for complete custom mapping in the UK, not just basic changes. BSR is possibly the only one mentioned where there would be difficulty for custom mapping in the UK.

Hamish.

Great, I didnt know we had a rica software engineer (like what marco is, even though he's MTE) in the uk!! - where are they based and who is he?

you'll have to give me there details yingying as its always good to have an alternative to marco.

Chris, best thing to do about wanting to know the figures is to do a search. You will then get real info direct from owners as its never good to believe the seller. You will also be able to compare your car against others of the same age cond and get a better idea as age\cond will affect the results.

but if you want my view, around 270-280bhp for a good nick 850t5. virtually all chips give the same power and torque, its more the way the powers delivered that makes them different, for exmaple i have a rica ecu and find it more harsh than some of the MTE cars ive been in. so it comes down to what you want, some people like the rica and some the MTE - personal choice.
