Vacuum Engine mounts
Hi
Could someone clarify the correct vacuum readings for the front and rear engine mounts as fitted to a 2007 D5 ? If I use a mitt vac in the front mount I get 25”hg but the new rear one only 5”hg. If I connect a vac gauge after the Solonoid at tickover I get 5”hg are these readings correct ? I have just changed the rear mount (old one had failed, gearbox on bumpstop) but still have a vibration between 1500 and 2500rpm which is felt through the floor. Hi
The rear one is a new unfitted replacement for a new one I fitted a week ago (that gives the same readings). I expected 25”hg in both ? |

have you sucked directly on to each mount and pumped up to 25"+ Hg and the pressure holds ?

Yes direct to the front will pump upto and hold 25”hg, both rears only go to 5”hg but hold ?
Would this cause vibrations between 1500-2500 rpm when the vacuum is off (I have tested the solonoid and it switches the vacuum off around 1500) Last edited by S60D5185; Jul 17th, 2018 at 17:16. |

Both should hold 25 in/Hg and that's all you need to know.
What make have you bought?

They are non genuine ‘fortune line’ good old ebay.
Would the lack of vacuum cause vibration above 1500rpm when the vacuum is off though? |

Just an update, I have replaced the rear mount with a branded one and the vibration has disappeared. The engine however still feels slightly harsh and not as smooth reving as some others I have owned.
