I tried WD40 yesterday and the plastics came up a treat...unfortunately, whilst the mirrors and hard plastics still look great today, the soft plastics (bumpers and rubbing strips) have faded off a little. Not like they were originally, but not quite as vibrant as yesterday.

I’m currently debating whether to go again with more WD to keep feeding the plastic, or go C4 next...

Given that i only suggested it after trying it once on my lawnmower grassbox Phil, i'd say give the other parts a few days then either try WD40 again on all of it or go for that C4 stuff. My grassbox still looks pretty good but i did give it a good soaking and didn't buff it off - also seems more compliant now as well!

Being awake is a totally different kettle of fish Stephen - very often i'm up quite early but don't wake up until lunchtime or later.

You can buy mugs with that squirrel etc on and i got one for a lady friend of mine a few years back as she hates mornings.

So you actually ADMIT to being awake sometimes !!!!

And please don't start about fish unless you have another good poster picture to post?

Is this off topic?

Well I've looked at the advice in this thread and had a look at the C4 website. Given the recommendations here the price seems really reasonable. And that's from me wot is not well placed for money. Thank you all the people that have posted their experiences re C4.

like you im "skint wallet" ,, but C4 - sorts the trim
give me a few (i need coffee to get going) and ill take a before and after for you on the V50's bumper protector,, just got the V50 and slowly working my way around the thing sorting the mechanicals first then am going to Sort the paintwork/trim ,, but ill do the bumper insert on the back for you ,,
me , i Wash the living out of the trim with an all purpose cleaner i use w2 from gtechnic a very soft nail brush, then dry with a clean microfiber,, it gets any "polish/wax" out of the trim and preps it for C4 ,which really is a "wipe on" , pause, buff Lightly off, done for 2 years.

Only sometimes!

I'm kind of lucky in that i have very little black/grey bumper trim (neither my Volvo nor Rover has much of it) but what i have used on black rubber trim (round windows, mirrors etc) is Meguiars Tyre Gel :

https://www.halfords.com/motoring/ca...otection-473ml

Works really well on tyres (no surprise there! ) and also on black plastic and rubber leaving a nice sheen but without that "over-polished" look that can sometimes happen.
If you want to give your tyres the "wet look", you use two coats, the first you buff off to a sheen and the second you leave to dry - daresay it would work well in the bumpers too.

takes longer to clean it before applying than apply it, and thats done now for 2+ years , being lazy i Like "do it once every 2 n a bit years"

please Excuse the dirty manky boot and the dirty paintwork, the car had a "to the tip" run this morning and havent yet cleaned the boot
