Default Volvo S80 - P2 Generation

Why are these so hated? I come across many people who haven't a good word to say about them and I wonder why. I know early models were quite unreliable and agree that the pre facelift version is looking a bit dated these days, but I saw a nice facelift example tonight with 17" alloys and thought it really was a smart looking car. I've also ridden in several and thought they were a lovely, smooth car and very refined. It surprises me the way they have fallen off everyone's radar. I'd certainly consider one at the prices they're going for.

Anyone care to comment?

Its probably because of their physical size they are just too big ... everything else is the same as a S60 or
V70 ....

I have owned 2 No S80 T6's and to be very honest if I was offered a low mileage S80 T6 I would buy it. My position is slightly different because I only do approximately 2k miles per year. Never had any problems with mine. They are getting rare in good condition and low miles. The best one is the T6 Executive with the fridge and all the bits you can ever want inside a vehicle. Whenthe price of the S80 V8 comes down even further in price I may have one. Great Yamaha V8 engine. Volvo had major problem in selling them at 40k. I had no problems in selling my S80's on as I paid peanuts, both very low miles.
