Default remote key fob

Hi , trying to find a thread on remote key fobs for my 1998 2.0 v70 , I recently changed the battery for the remote, and as the case was worse for wear decided to buy a new case from fleabay , now it wont work at all , i have tried the "ignition 5 times and then press on off on the remote but to no avail , does anybody know of a remedy or a link to a thread please ? thanks

i am wondering wether the remote has timed out after a certain length of time the battery was removed for changing the case, as the straight swop for batteries didnt affect it, also i know my father had this trouble a few years ago with his 850 turbo and a volvo mechanic restarted it by using some sort of combination of ignition and key pressing sequence or like ,,

ok thanks , i know of a good auto spark , he has just fitted a recon electric power steering motor to the mrs punto and remapped for £140 , not bad considering scrapyards want 100 and recon ones sell upwards of 120 ,
i have issues with the elec windows and having spent time trying to trace, he said he will fix them so will ask about the fob,
also my coolant level light comes on intermittently so rather than chance a scrapyard on i may get him to sort that aswell .
