The First one looks like its only fit fer Knackers Yard.....

TBH IF I "Bid" a car on Flea-Bay from a Distance (which is NOT often) I always mail the seller & ask him/her to deliver it I offer him/her £50 Petrol & pay their Bus/Train fare home + £20 Out of pocket Expenses....

it served me in good stead twice now ......I bought a Sierra Cosworth from Wednesbury about 4 years ago .... got the seller to drive it up to blackpool & the damned thing set a fire on the M6 at Stafford Needless to say I didn't part with any cash !!!!!

T'other time I bought a Caravan from Goole & same again Seller delivered it & the wheel flew off on the M62 .... & AGAIN I parted with NO CASH ....

Most "Honest" sellers are quite happy to deliver things (maybe its coz I'm at the "seaside" & they get a free day out!!!) I give em £50 Fuel +£20 fer their time & Train fare (Usually amounts to £100ish!!) I would STILL have to spend the Train fare (to Collect) & the Fuel (to drive it home) so £20 is peanuts fer just sitting at home waiting for them/it to turn up !!

& doesn't EVERYBODY KNOW that feeling when yiou've picked up a car & yer miles from home & yer spend the entire trip back looking at every dash gauge there is WILLING the MIL light NOT TO COME ON!!! ..

I HATE THAT FEELING!!!

Thats not a bad idea but most cars dont have tax and insurance these days so sellers can not deliver. Ive been asked a few times and its always no. cause Im not insured. Sounds like its worked great for you. The car was less than a mile from home so that's made it not so bad.

I bought a car as a donor 41 mile drive home 35mile after setting out engine management came on. followed by temp gauge springing to life. I pulled over and the car stalled 10 mins later I depresserised the steam from water topped up and got it home. Thankfully I did take a gallon of water. Being a donor car I didnt worry about cracking the block 5 miles from home lol. Mentioned it to seller he said Ive not done more than 10miles in one trip or sat a 80mph on the motor way. Got home that was the main thing
