On the vehicle order form for my MY19 XC60 under the heading Standard Equipment>Interior the words Automatic Load Cover are clearly mentioned.

After a bit more research it looks like it is standard on the MY19 but not the MY18.5. Guess I should have ordered a couple of weeks later if I wanted it! It was on the website as standard prior to me taking delivery but I dug out the brochure and it just says ‘load cover’.

The MY 2018 XC60 spec definitely states "Automatic Load Cover" under "Standard Features"

I queried this with dealer after delivery, as my car definitely not fitted with Automatic Load Cover.

I had remembered playing with one in the showroom, turns out that was a V90.

There is the usual cop out on the back cover of the "Price and Specification" booklet. "The manufacturer reserves the right to make changes at any time, without notice, to prices, colour, materials, specifications and models."

I think they have got themselves covered.

IMO, there is difference in the finality of the spec stated in the spec booklet and the spec stated on the order form in that the spec stated in the booklet is not fixed forever and is subject to change as and when Volvo deem appropriate. As buyers we should be relying on the latest edition of the booklet while making decisions and/or ordering and be aware that spec can change anytime before the order is placed/confirmed.

However, if I placed my order based on the spec stated in the latest version of the booklet and that order is confirmed then that spec should be fixed and shouldn’t be changed by virtue of the disclaimer stated on the booklet even if Volvo subsequently changes the spec and as a result releases a new booklet.

Once you place an order and it’s accepted by Volvo that’s exactly what you will get despite any future changes in the sales brochure /price list. I can confirm that’s what happened to my order. My dealer Invoice lists everything that was in the current price list and that’s what I got despite changes to pack content and price subsequently and before delivery.

I thought mine was going to have automatic load, but like everyone else it not to be.
