Unfortunately it does not delete volvo crazy climate logic (basically it knows better what you need - this means it will blast freezing air in your face at all times no matter the temperature setting).

Wait what. Are you saying 2 zone climate control doesn't come with vents for the back passengers? This would be ridiculous on the part of Volvo.

I think it's 2 evaporators (1 front, 1 rear which do the actual cooling) and 1 compressor.

I am pretty sure the 4 zone climate uses the same single system, the 7 seat comfort pack (£900 option pack) has a seperate climate/airconditioning unit for the 3rd row which is activated from the sensus screen. I optioned this to keep my dog cool in the cargo area.

7seat comfort pack includes 4zone climate option. It’s the same.

On the V90 at least, there are vents under the seats pointing backwards and also mid level adjustable ones in the B Pillar. The 4 zone adds 2 in the back of the Centre console as well as the touch screen that controls the individual temperature and the fan speed to the rear in general, it also controls the heated rear seats if specced. It does look pretty smart.

Check “air distribution” section in the manual app. It shows all the vents

The 7 seat comfort pack does indeed include 4zone climate control and 3rd row aircon which has a seperate aircon unit for the 3rd row, thats why it costs £900, as apposed to £550 for 4zone. I have 7 seat comfort pack. The 4zone does not have that extra aircon unit for 3rd row but does have seperate fan speed and temperature controls and vents for outer mid row seats, which may have its own matrix/fan, it also has a cooled glove box, and the rear seat heater controls if optioned.
