Default Headlight control module

Hi all.

I am trying to pick up a replacement headlight control module for the v50 as with the current one the active bending xenon function dosent work (everything else seems to work fine) I have been going around a few breakers trying to find a replacement with the same part number. I found one who has the same part number but says the car it came out didn't have this function.... I am beginning to wonder if one of the cars has been fitted with an incorrect part at somepoint. Can anyone confirm if this part number for my car is correct 1 307 329 197 00? Taken from the module in the passanger wing.

Thanks

You don't think it be a programming issue ?
My V50 doesn't have active bi-xenon headlights, but I have had self-levelling problems, which resulted in issues with the ballasts. After having a Volvo Indy garage reprogramming them , they are now working. Could it be that a re programme might correct your problem ?

Digging through the internet the common issue for this problem seemed to be the unit is faulty most said it was due to water and dirt egress with it being located in the Footwell.
The problem is Volvo charge like £300 to reprogram so I'd rather take a shot at a £50 part to start with then kinda go from there.

Hi
I dont know the number (I can check for you in Vida if you want, need your Vin though) but I am almost certain it wont work without reprogramming and calibrating so getting an used one will not be just plug& play.

Thanks it's 1 307 329 197 00.

Really? I read somewhere that if it was the same pn you would get away with it. Gonna suck if it won't. Think it'll just be getting left haha.
Do you know what actually needs programmed you'd think parts with the same pn would be, well the same.

I'll grab the vin next time im at the car

I dont have enough knowledge with OEM xenon systems, but I would bet its either whole module needs programming in (like pairing to the car) or just car would need headlight calibration. Basically in any case you need to plug your car to DiCE. In case of second option, thats actually doable by yourself if you have Vida or another forum member. Does not require software etc. In the 1st case it MAY require software download and then its only a dealer job. But I honestly dont know whats involved, its just my guessing. Would be best if one of guys with factory xenons share theirs opinion.

This seems like a somewhat pita problem.
Might have to just try it with a replacement part and hope for the best haha. Or find a non dealer garage that is more reasonable with there software costs as the dealer prices are daylight robbery.

Have pm'd my vin number over

PM answered.
btw - "non dealer" option is not possible in case of software reload. Unless you find a specialised volvo service that has access to Volvo servers, you will have to BUY a software with Volvo to be reloaded with volvo service anyway.
sorry :/

I'll wait and see as apparently they are getting the full kit. As they are already a vag group specialist and are looking to bolt on Volvo. So who knows of not I'll either leave it be or go to a main dealer
