Rear trailing arm bush v/xc/ 2000-2006
FullSizeRender.jpg
Before I go mad buying tools to remove this bush has it failed? Seeing daylight through it says to me it's failed end of. So I just read another forum where they said the 'tear' was normal and didn't affect the bush? Say what??? So has it failed? http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...rrier/1007405/ It's this bush, why is the bolt hole key shaped, is it a stress relief design? I'm presuming the bolts need replacing as well. Wish I had a concrete drive or a garage!

The bush you show is similar but different to the P3 bush which has an oblong bar through the slot to fit the arm to the car. Don't know about sizes. It is possible it's a common bush used for both applications by the fitting of the differing fixing for the later model.
I know it's a regular job on the P3 with the bushes seeming to last 40k miles or so. Last time I checked volvo wanted £64+vat per bush. Looking at the picture of yours and the new one you linked to I'd be changing it were it mine. Paul. |

I read its the Ford part on the p3 that fails more then this older type Paul.
Hence I can find loads of info about the P3 bushing and tools but bugger all about this one on my car! Is the £63 fitted, sounds reasonable!

I could be wrong but I think the bush needs to be pressed in at an angle. My indy did mine but he needed to borrow a jig from a dealer.

It's £25 for two new genuine bushes! Sounds like it's worth me getting the press kit.

It was a V70 58 plate. Maybe I am meaning a different set of bushes. They started to 'creak' at about 120k miles.
