Gearbox oil cooler
Hi I am about to start using my xc90 D5 auto to tow a caravan, now is a separate oil cooler fitted to the auto box as standard or not, it's a 2004 model.
If it hasn't got one fitted is this something I need to be thinking about or not, any advice will be appreciated |

it should have a cooler fitted down the side of the radiator, all the other D5 engined cars have.
i was having problems with my S80 autobox overheating towing my boat which turned out to much heavier than the boat dealer said it was. It was sold to me being 1300kg on an 1800kg trailer, within the 1800kg towing rate of the S80, however the total weight was 2100kg all in! I fitted a mocal oil cooler from deamon tweeks as volvo don't list one for the S80. I had no more over heating problems even towing up through Glen Coe It cost £108 new and now that i have sold the 80 it's in the garage if you want to make an offer. |
