Was last week, but got the rear section of my 14 plate V70s windows tinted. Black on black on cream interior.

Loving its look now.

Sounds as cool as a pint of extra cool Guiness.....and possibly looks as nice too on the inside!

What tint did you go with ?

I'm really pleased with the 'Luna' tint that Global Tint installed a couple of weeks ago.

Removed the cluster and glass from the front, used a make up blusher brush to remove dust. Really easy to do only take minutes to remove cluster and brush comes in useful for dusting my air vents etc.

The dust was annoying when in direct sunlight.

I have gone for limo black which is 30% or 70% whichever way around it is. Went this dark due to the cream interior.

I found a disparity in the level of travel between the accelerator pedal and the height of the brake pedal on my XC70 Auto. So I made up an extension to the accelerator out of structural polyethylene foam and raised the level of the pedal by about 4 cm. I can now sit comfortably and accelerate and brake without stretching my right leg on the throttle when fully depressed and having to curl it to brake. I have also been able to adjust the position of the seat and the steering wheel to make the whole driving position more comfortable and in addition I no longer catch the left edge of my right shoe under the brake pedal when transferring from throttle to brake. Before anyone suggests that there is a safety aspect to the original throttle pedal height, I drove my last car, 3 of them, with this mod for over 12 years and never came to harm. Catching the edge of a shoe under the brake pedal can critically delay braking and cause some very hairy moments!

This weeks jobs on my XC70 2006 D5 AWD 185:

- Repaired (jiggled and lubed) fuel flap solenoid
- Replaced fuel flap hinge
- Made a new eyelet out of steel for fuel flap to accept the solenoid pin
- found and replaced the 12v sockets' fuse hidden in a location not in manual (through this process i realised i was given the V70 manual, not the XC70 manual that has an additional fuse box at the central electrical module!!)
- Polished the headlights to get rid of the fog
- touched up some scratches where the belt buckle had been crushed between the car and the door.

Took the S80 into my local (very good) independent Volvo people in Pershore for a sat nav update and to fix what I thought was a blocked sunroof drain, causing a very wet carpet and an unwanted indoor rainfall feature... Turned out its the windscreen bonding, which I gather is a common problem. Windscreen removed, cleaned & resealed. waiting for glue to set before I pick it up tomorrow, then all set for two weeks trouble free motoring around the Netherlands & Belgium

On Monday managed to get the XC70 waxed and during the process removed the rear number plate and cleaned the tailgate properly. I'll transfer that plate to the bike rack and get a nice fresh one for the car. Also debadged the tailgate using a piece of fishing line like a cheese wire to cut the letters off.

Anyone want XC70, D5 or AWD badges they're free to a good home? Only need some sticky pads.

Next job is to clean the lower rubbers at all the windows where they're a bit green and around the roof rail mounts where it's hard to clean properly.

Washed my XC70 including all bits around the roof rails.
Got the following faults fixed:
Fixed low battery warning. (Replacement Bosch S4 battery)
Fixed parking distance sensors not working. (Replaced module and one sensor)
Upgraded infotainment to accept downloaded maps. (Maps uploading but not done a long run yet)
Replaced USB socket in armrest as the centre had snapped.
Installed genuine Volvo towing electrics (awaiting towbar fitment)
